“Their Future in Your Hands” is an introductory exploration of society’s use of animals. This moving video starts with information that will help viewers better appreciate animals and their intelligent, playful, social natures. It goes on to discuss hunting and the use of animals for food, research, entertainment, and clothing. The final section presents a message of hope and discusses the ways in which many people are helping to create a more humane world that protects people, animals, and the environment. This video serves as an excellent introduction to the animal-protection movement.

TeachKind recommends that educators review all videotapes before showing them to students.

Suggested Uses: Show this video to your students during a discussion about the ethical and appropriate treatment of animals. It can also be shown before assigning research or writing projects to give students topic ideas for the assignment. Free posters for your classroom and free literature on animal-protection issues are available from TeachKind.
